Several nights ago, a friend told me I should check out Gotye. Today I did and I enjoyed his work. The first song I listened to was Somebody That I Used to Know, and I found myself comparing it to The Postal Services's Nothing Better. Both songs are about guys whose girlfriends have left them and they don't understand why. The ex-girlfriends then make an appearance and explain exactly why they left. I am not saying Gotye is simply copying The Postal Service, his sound is drastically different and while the subject matter is the same, that is about where the similarities end. Here are both songs, I'll let you form your own opinions.
